A new addition to the family

I have been pretty down lately. I had an ERCP done last week Tuesday and after 2 hours of digging around they couldn't get into my bile duct. Not only that, but I was so sick afterwards thanks to the general anesthetic they gave me. And to make matters worse, it didn't change anything.

Thankfully for the past few days I have been feeling a little better. I will be going to St. Luke's in Milwaukee to have the procedure performed again, but this time they will make a slight incision on the bile duct to open it and hopefully permanently relieve the pressure. The only thing that makes me nervous is it is a 1 1/2 hour drive away and if I am sick like I was last time it is going to be a LONG ride home.

On a lighter note, we purchased a new addition to our family yesterday. We bought a Newfoundland puppy that we named Julius. He is so adorable and I can't wait to pick him up on Sunday. Now it's time to go through the house and get rid of all of the toys the kids don't play with so the puppy has less things to destroy. I will post pictures after we get him. Hope you all have a happy Tuesday!

Nervous about tomorrow

Not sure if I will be around much for the next few days. I have an ERCP scheduled tomorrow. Wish me luck as I am stressing out about it. I have a tendency to get nervous about things like this. It sounds like a fairly simple procedure, and if it helps me feel better it will really be worth it. I just don't like the idea of being put under. Thanks to all of you for the well wishes, and I will definetly keep you all posted on what they find, if anything!

So I've Slacked Off

Well, I have really fallen off the bandwagon of Blog 365 - oh well it was bound to happen. I have been busy nursing two sick little girls who have the flu. Not sure how much more laundry I can do, if you catch my drift.

Other than that I have been completely engrossed in reading Twilight by Stephenie Meyer - really excellent! A good friend reminded me that I still needed to make time to read the books that were on my TBR list BEFORE I started the book group - it was good advice and I will have to try and keep it in perspective.

I also have found some new favorite blogs pertaining to my other passion, cross stitching. I don't get nearly enough time to do this either, but am going to start "scheduling" it in. Have been working on a snowman that I love but realize that I am going to need to go back to a rotation if I plan on getting to some of my favorite patterns. I don't want to have 10 WIPs, or maybe I do. That way it forces me to stitch more often, lol!

New website....again

So, I missed a day. Oh well, what can I say, I have been busy trying to switch everything over to the new book review website - www.amateurdelivre.com I was a little upset that I couldn't keep the domain name that I originally chose but at least it is early on. Hopefully my loyal readers won't be too upset at having to add yet another change.

I may be kind of sparse on here for a little bit but promise to come back with a vengeance soon. Take care all!

2008 Valentine's Day Goody Swap

I am pretty excited about this - found this site called An Island Life thanks to another blogging friend of mine and she is hosting a goody swap. Swaps are something that I just love and wish that I could find more of on the net - there is nothing like getting a special package in the mail with all sorts of goodies in it, come on, who doesn't like that?!

There is a questionnaire to fill out to help our partners get a head start on getting to know us, our likes and dislikes, etc.. so here goes:

Questionnaire:

What is your idea of a romantic Valentine’s Day?

Years ago I would have said a nice night out with the hubby, but now with the little ones I enjoy spending quiet nights at home - maybe a nice meal and a good movie with some popcorn, followed by a nice long bubble bath!

In reality, what is your Valentine’s Day really like?
I usually end up cooking something, and I may be able to take a bath but the girls will be upstairs playing music and "keeping me company" (they are 2 and 4) - not too relaxing, lol!

If you could have a lifetime supply of your favorite sweet indulgence, what would it be?
Definitely Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. Those mini ones are dangerous because it’s so easy to just pop them in your mouth. I think I once ate half a bag in one sitting! (I agree) or Butterfingers

Is there any sweet treat you absolutely do not like?
black liquorice, candy hearts, and any dark or white chocolate

If you fell into a pool of chocolate, how would you get out?
Is drinking the chocolate and option? I am sure the chocolate would do wonders for my skin:)
